New £4m Green Technology Centre opened at Kidderminster College

The new Green Technology Centre at NCG’s Kidderminster College has officially opened following more than two years of construction. The £4 million facility on Stourport Road will provide industry-led training in construction and automotive skills, with sustainability embedded throughout the curriculum.

Developed in response to the Local Skills Improvement Plan and the region’s growing demand for green skills, the Centre aligns with Worcestershire LEP’s sustainability priorities and the College’s commitment to Net Zero.

As owner and developer of the site, Gemini Property entered into a long-term lease with Kidderminster College to deliver this flagship technical training facility.

Tim Hopkins, Owner and CEO of Gemini Property, said:

“We own and operate over 100 sites in the UK, but the Kidderminster site has always been close to my heart and is a strategic priority as my hometown. Employment and skills are key drivers for me, and completing a deal with Kidderminster College puts this site at the forefront of technical training while supporting job creation across the Wyre Forest and wider area.”

The Centre was officially opened by designer and Hemingway Design founder Wayne Hemingway and incorporates sustainable features including solar panels, water-saving systems and energy-efficient lighting. Funding support was provided by the UK Government’s Getting Building Fund, Worcestershire LEP, the Department for Education and the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.
